Carol countermands Helen's plans

July 7, 1931

King Carol II had countermanded the summer plans of his former wife, Princess Helen, whose chamberlain announced earlier today that Crown Prince Michael would spent the summer with his mother at Constanza.

The Associated Press is now reporting that Carol has issued an official proclamation denying Helen's wishes.   The Crown Prince will now not spend the summer with his mother, but with his father.

The "royal disagreement" was the subject of much comment in Bucharest tonight, and most of the comments were "directed against the King's proclamation."
