Royals to attend Marie's wedding

April 4, 1908

The King and Queen of the Hellenes and several other members of the royal family are expected to attend the wedding of Prince Wilhelm of Sweden to Grand Duchess of Maria Pavlovna, according to the New York Times.

The wedding is scheduled for May 3.  The Greek royal yacht arrived at Odessa at the end of March.

In addition to the Greek and Swedish royals will travel to Tsarkoe-Selo for the wedding,  there will be "representatives of other foreign monarchs," and Ambassadors and other foreign dignitaries.

Grand Duchess Marie Pavlovna is the daughter of Grand Duke Paul and the late Grand Duchess Alexandra, who was born Princess Alexandra of Greece.   She will receive a dowry of $500,000 which will be "invested in Russian State funds on behalf of the imperial family."  The Grand Duchess also inherited a small "private fortune" from her mother.
