So going out of a limb for Cambridge baby name

Although I could be right that baby Cambridge will be called Princess Alexandra or Prince George, I also could be right that the Duke and Duchess may consider other previously used royal names.

The couple met at St. Andrew's University.  They are unlikely to use Andrew as it is the name of William's uncle, the Duke of York.

How about Prince Alexander or Princess Margaret?  Both are the names of Scots monarchs.

The family will be moving later this year into the late Princess Margaret's apartment at Kensington Palace.

Princess Margaret's granddaughter, the Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, was one of the Duchess of Cambridge's bridal attendants.

both are possible. i think they will be likely to go back in royal history for this child in particular to see 1) if any previous monarchs share the name, and 2) if so, what those monarchs' reputations were. for the other children, it won't matter as much - in this day & age, it is very likely that their first child will live to adulthood to inherit the throne. for example, henry was fine for prince harry, but the last king henry was viii. that kind of thing. at this point i just can't wait to know the gender!

how long do you think it will be before the names are announced?

Could be the next day, a week or up to six weeks.
